Winter 2025
Dear Members,
I hope this newsletter finds you warm and well during this chilly time of year. I am thrilled to reflect on the success of our recent conference, which brought together passionate home economics educators from across the region.
First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the conference organizers from the 2024 conference in Richmond. Your dedication and hard work made this event a resounding success. From the engaging workshops to the inspiring keynote panellists, every detail was carefully planned and resulted in mindful consideration of what reciprocity in action might look like in our own districts, schools, and classrooms. Thank you for your generous commitment to our professional community. If you were not able to attend the 2024 conference or you are not currently an active THESA member, please visit this page to renew your membership to support us in supporting you!
We are also looking for a host for our 2025 conference! Hosting the conference is a fantastic bonding experience for teachers and a wonderful opportunity to showcase your school and community. If you are interested in hosting, please reach out to thesa@thesa.org for more details on how to get involved.
Congratulations to this year’s recipients of THESA’s Pins of Recognition Suki Bhattal, Elaine Stafford, and Catherine Hay and our THESA’s first recipient of the Home Economics Teacher of the Year, Rachel Rogers. Your dedication to home economics growing in your practice has inspired your colleagues across the province!
