Summer 2022
I read a quote by Harper Reed the other day that said “The opportunity to step away from everything and take a break is something that shouldn’t be squandered”. I hope this letter finds you catching your breath and basking in relaxation as we welcome in our well deserved summer break. I will keep this letter short and sweet so you can get back to your R&R.
Although I am thoroughly soaking up my break, I am also looking forward to THESA’s first in person conference in three years! The 2022 THESA Conference “Let’s Dig In!” will be offered in-person and online at La Salle College Vancouver on October 21 (please note that the virtual option will be limited)! THESA members Rachel Labossiere and Jocelyn Deck are hosting the conference in partnership with La Salle College and they are advertising it as the “most hands-on THESA conference to date“! You can find out more about the conference at thesaconference.ca. Registration will be open on September 1st. Register early to enter yourself into the “Early Bird Draw” to win free registration. I’m excited to see you there! If hosting a future THESA conference is something you or your local chapter are considering, please get in touch with me or another executive member to talk about this rewarding opportunity.
If you’re keen and are planning for your school year this summer, please remember there are many avenues that THESA can support you. Visit our website to view the myriad ways THESA can connect you to resources. We have our wonderful, active community on our Facebook group. There are curated resources on THESA’s google drive, including design projects, assessment examples, and teaching strategies. If you have anything you think other teachers would like to use, please don’t hesitate to share your resources so they can be uploaded to the drive as well. We appreciate your support!
So there you have it! Short and sweet! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your summer.
